UCL Academics Appointed to REF 2029 Expert Sub-Panels

Research England has appointed 14 UCL academic staff members to the expert sub-panels that will assess research in the next Research Excellence Framework (REF) in 2029.

The panel members will join the previously announced sub-panel chairs Professor Dominic Wyse (Ioe - Faculty of Education and Society) as Chair of the Education unit of assessment and Professor Nick Gallent (Bartlett School of Planning) as Chair of the Architecture, Built Environment and Planning unit of assessment, who were announced in May.

Covering medicine, health and life sciences, social sciences, physical sciences, engineering and mathematics, and arts and humanities, the REF is the UK’s system for assessing the quality of research in UK universities. The results demonstrate how this research benefits society both in the UK and around the world.
