UCL ranked 2nd worldwide for psychology by THE
UCL has been ranked 2nd worldwide for Psychology in the latest Times Higher Education rankings by subject, released today. UCL is the only university in Europe among the top 10 in psychology, which is a new addition to this year's subject rankings list. The rankings for Clinical, Pre-clinical and Health were also released today, with UCL placing 12th globally and 4th in the UK. Overall, UCL ranks 16th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2018. Other strong subjects in the THE subject rankings for UCL include Arts and Humanities (5th) and Law (8th), in tables released last month. The THE subject tables employ 13 performance indicators with weightings based on teaching (30%), research volume, income and reputation (30%), citations/research influence (27.5%), international outlook based on staff, students and research (7.5%), and industry income or innovation (5%). In the psychology ranking, UCL performed particularly well in the teaching category, which includes indicators about the learning environment such as a teaching reputation survey and the student-to-staff ratio.
