Durham ranked as top five UK University

Durham University has further cemented its place as one of the UK's leading universities, according to a new league table. The Complete University Guide 2013, which ranks 116 universities, named Durham as the country's fifth best university - the same position it held in last year's guide. The consolidation of Durham's performance in the Complete University Guide follows on from its best ever performance in the prestigious Sunday Times University Guide, which ranked Durham as the UK's third best university. Durham is also ranked among the world's top 100 universities and is in the top 15 globally for employer reputation when it comes to the quality of, and demand for, its graduates. In the Complete University Guide 2013, the University was third in the UK for the amount it spends on support facilities including careers and sports facilities. Durham featured in the top 10 for entry standards, student satisfaction, the percentage of graduates achieving a first or upper second class degree, degree completion and employability of its graduates. Nationally Durham was also ranked fifth for its environmental and ethical policies in the league table's "green" rankings.
