UK vote to leave the EU - UCL statement

UCL notes the result of the referendum on UK membership of the European Union. While we have not taken a formal position during the referendum campaign, it is important to recognise the huge impact of EU membership on universities such as UCL, particularly around the mobility of students and funding of research. At this early stage, there is no certainty on how leaving the EU will affect the multiplicity of relationships and activities that UK universities engage in. The timetable for any amendments to current arrangement affecting fees for EU students and research funding is currently unclear. However, UCL can confirm that it has no plans to change the tuition fees for EU students that have already been published for 2016/17. EU students who are registered at the university in 2016/17 (either as a new or continuing student) will continue to be charged the home rate for tuition fees for all subsequent years of their programme. As further details become available, we will publish information on our website.
