A UCL staff member working with some materials The UK Higher Education Technicians Summit 2023 (HETS23) took place last week, with UCL technical professionals amongst the Papin Prize Winners. On 4 July, the University of Warwick hosted the UK Higher Education Technicians Summit 2023 (HETS23), where Professor Sir Jonathan Van-Tam MBE gave the keynote speech. Professor Van-Tam recognised that many of the technicians in the audience took a role in the COVID crisis, and thanked them for doing so. Higher education and research technicians from across the UK were honoured with prestigious awards recognising excellence in academia. UCL technical staff were represented as the following: - Han Wu: Contribution to Research - shortlisted Christopher Thrasivoulou: Core Research Facility - winner Martin Farley: Papin Medal - winner Yvette Hoade: Best Poster - winner - UCL was also represented with attendees, posters, and a workshop session, which was presented together with the Science Council - Professional Registration: UCL's Roadmap to Science Council Employer Champion Award.
