2026 marks UCL’s Bicentenary and 200 years since we were founded as London’s first ever university. To celebrate, we have relased new wallpapers you can download to your devices.
The three images selected show some of the history of UCL as well as bringing the imagery up to date with a shot from one of our most recent buildings. They are formated for use on a standard UCL desktop.
We’ve already rolled out one of the UCL 200 images to Desktop@UCL Anywhere and teaching space machines but wanted to give all staff the opportunity to use the UCL200 images on your machines.
- An early illustration is of "University College London with the intended wings" which as we know didn’t quite materialise as shown.
2. This Edwardian photograph from 1909 shows a scene of a bazaar and fete taking place in the Quad.
Thanks for putting these together and getting the wallpaper images out there go to Kailey Nolan (UCL200 Comms), Steven Bryden (brand graphic designer ) and Jack Siebert (ISD) with a special shout out to UCL Special Collections and their amazing archives.
