The UCL200 Staff Contribution & Engagement Fund is now open!

We’re excited to launch the UCL200 Staff Contribution & Engagement Fund (SCEF), a new initiative to support staff-led events and activities as part of UCL’s 200th anniversary celebrations in 2026.

From February to December 2026, UCL200 will bring our community together for a vibrant programme of events and activities that celebrate our founding values, and highlight the excellence and impact of UCL’s groundbreaking work and people.

The Staff Contribution & Engagement Fund (SCEF) is designed to support staff to create or enhance grassroots events and activities for UCL’s bicentennial, whether this is starting something new or taking existing ideas to the next level.

Who can apply?

All UCL staff (professional services, academics, doctoral students) across all’UCL faculty departments, institutes, research centres, VP portfolios, staff networks, communities of practice, and postgraduate students are invited to apply for support from this fund.

Funding allocations will be prioritised for staff groups who have either limited or no dedicated funding. For example, staff networks and communities of practice.

Separate UCL200 funds will be launched for UCL students and student societies in collaboration with the Students’ Union, and for staff and student collaborations through  Changemakers UCL.

What can the funding be used for?

This one-off fund is here to support grassroots bicentennial activity.  Events and activities must take place between February and December 2026 and align with UCL200 objectives.

How much funding is available?

You can apply for 1 of 3 tiers of funding:
  • Boost: Up to £750 for an activity or event that, with a small-scale boost investment, can be badged as UCL200.
  • Enhance : Up to £1,500 to enhance the delivery of a business-as-usual or bespoke activity or event, that can be badged as UCL200.
  • Initiate : Up to £5000 for a bespoke event or activity that you would like to initiate in 2026 that will leave a lasting impact on a key audience.
