Technical Staff Showcase 2024: celebrating our experts

On Friday, 12th April, technical professionals at UCL came together to celebrate the Technical Staff Showcase 2024.

The event began with a warm welcome from Aimie Chapple, Vice President (Operations). Dr Kelly Vere MBE, creator of the Technician commitment and the most prominent technical professional in the UK delivered the keynote titled ’Transforming The Technical Profession: Shifting Narratives and Building a Positive Culture’.  

The main exhibition, spanning the cloisters, Haldane room, Wilkins terrace, and Japanese Gardens, showcased the diverse skills and contributions of UCL’s technical staff. There was also a series of seminars, chaired and presented by technical professionals, an announcement of the awards for Technicians of the Year 2024, and a photo competition. The day ended with a reception at the Wilkins Garden room as colleagues came together to celebrate, connect and network.
