A Polish virtuoso musician widely regarded as one of the greatest pianists alive today will be giving a concert in Cambridge tomorrow, Thursday 18 November. Piotr Anderszewski is famed for the intelligence and refinement of his interpretations as much for his formidable technique. Anderszewski has given acclaimed recitals in all the major musical centres of the world, including Salzburg, Vienna, New York's Carnegie Hall New York, and the Mariinsky Concert Hall in St Petersburg. He will perform a concert of music by Bach and Schumann at the Concert Hall, West Road, at 7.30 pm. Thursday's concert forms part of the Camerata Musica International Artists Series. Future concerts in the 2010/11 Camerata Musica season include the violinist Viktoria Mullova, the tenor Ian Bostridge, and the pianist Dame Mitsuko Uchida. Camerata Musica was founded in Peterhouse in 2005 to bring musicians of international distinction to perform in Cambridge, and to make available concerts of the highest standard accessible to student audiences.
