New appointments in UCL Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment
The new Dean of UCL's Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment, Professor Alan Penn, has announced three new appointments, with effect from 1 January 2010. After eight years as Head of the UCL Bartlett School of Architecture, Professor Iain Borden is now taking up a new role within the Bartlett Faculty as a whole as Vice-Dean for Communications. In this new role he will have overall responsibility for internal and external communications, including the Faculty's website, publications, exhibitions, alumni relations and digital outputs. Professor Borden is a world-leading architectural historian and theorist. Professor Borden says: 'The energy and creativity of the Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment lie at the heart of UCL. Through their world-class research, teaching and enterprise activities, all of our schools ' Architecture, Construction and Project Management, Planning, Graduate Studies and the Development Planning Unit ? make a massive multi- and inter-disciplinary contribution to the built environment. It is a privilege to be helping to promote and disseminate such a wealth of outstanding endeavours.
