UCL academics are being invited to apply for a day of in-depth media interview training on either 6 June or 25 June, 2024.

The training, organised in partnership with the Dr Katharine Giles Fund and open to all’academics at UCL, will equip researchers with high-level skills to interact effectively with journalists and communicate their research and expertise to a wide audience.

The session, delivered by Escott Hunt, is designed to build on the media training and wider support offered by UCL Media Relations, with a focus on radio and TV practice interviews which will be recorded, with feedback tailored to each individual. It is intended for researchers who may already have experience with the media.

Applicants are invited to apply by Monday 22 April  by writing 200 words describing their media experience so far, why they are likely to be speaking to media in future, and why they would benefit from the training. Applications should be submitted to m.greaves@ucl.ac.uk. Applicants should be available on either 6 June or 25 June (or both dates if possible).
