If you’re staying at UCL over the summer, remember that all of our services and student support will be open and available throughout the summer break.


Library opening hours will remain as normal over the summer until Sunday 25 September. The Main Library will be open until midnight during weekdays and Science will be open 24/7 from Monday morning until Sunday evening. The Student Centre will be open 24/7 all week. The opening hours

Student Support and Wellbeing 

UCL Student Support and Wellbeing remains open to students throughout the summer period. Make an appointment with the Disability, Mental Health and Wellbeing team to access support. Outside of working hours, students can contact Care First for free online and telephone counselling support. For free telephone counselling through Care First, call +44 (0)800 197 4510 or +44 (0)1452 623 246 from outside the UK.  

The remainder of Student Support and Wellbeing services (including Student Psychological and Counselling Services and the Student Enquiries Centre) remain open, and you can contact them through askUCL. 

For emergency support, including a mental health crisis , always (or equivalent number overseas) or make your way to the accident and emergency (A&E) department at your local hospital. The closest A&E to UCL is at UCLH , while you can also contact Camden and Islington’s Mental Health Crisis Assessment service by calling their support line on 020 3317 6333 or visiting their hospital site in St Pancras, both open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Samaritans can be contacted in the UK on 116 123 at any time and everything discussed is confidential. 

UCL Careers 

During the summer, you will still have access to UCL Careers online support and resources to assist you in your development and career search. 

You can also book to attend one of our one-to-one guidance appointments or attend any upcoming events on myUCLCareers. 

Other online support includes:  

1. Get immediate feedback on your CV 

Current students get free access to VMock - an online tool that can provide immediate tips and advice on how to improve your CV. 

2. Navigate the career essentials online course 

Navigate this online eLearning course at your own pace and explore video tutorials, interactive quizzes, and exercises to help you find your future career. 

From navigating the graduate job market, to writing effective job applications, this resource is available to all UCL students and recent graduates. 

3. View live vacancies 

View and apply from one of over 2,800 live vacancies via our online jobs board. Including exclusive opportunities for current students and recent graduates.  

4. Browse articles and resources 

Whether you have just started your degree, looking for career inspiration, deciding on further study, or preparing to interview for your dream job, the Careers Discovery Feed is for you! 

Find loads of helpful articles about all things careers - everything from sector guides, employer profiles and much more! 

5. Plan for the new academic year 

Over the summer we begin to update myUCLCareers. with upcoming events for 2022/23 - keep an eye out!  

UCL Museums

The UCL Art Museum in the North Cloisters will be closed, but the G rant Museum of Zoology  and  Petrie Museum of Egyptian and Sudanese Archaeology will remain open and free to visit, Tuesday-Friday 1pm-5pm and Saturday 11am-5pm ; no booking required.
