Global science research partnerships praised. November 2016) Durham University has been ranked in the top 25 in the world for its strong global research partnerships in a prestigious Nature Index. Durham is ranked 23rd overall in the World Top 100 Collaborators in the Nature Index 2016 Collaborations supplement, which highlights the world's most fruitful research partnerships and collaborative institutions. It is placed as the second highest UK university in these latest world rankings, while in Physical Sciences Durham is positioned 18th in the World Top 50 Collaborators. Research across borders The Nature Index measures each partner's contribution to collaborative research papers in the select group of science journals captured in the Index. Professor Stuart Corbridge, Vice-Chancellor and Warden, Durham University, said: "It is very rewarding to see our strong international research partnerships recognised in this Nature Index. "Our researchers regularly work across disciplinary boundaries and geographical borders, bringing together complementary perspectives and skills to develop creative solutions to global challenges.
