Generative AI and your education: learn what you need to know

student working at laptop on campus What is generative AI and how does it work? Should you or shouldn't you be using AI tools to support your studies? A new optional course will take you through exactly what you need to know. All UCL students can learn about Generative AI and Academic Skills on UCL Moodle. The course gives you an introduction to generative AI, including a discussion of its current strengths and weaknesses. You'll also explore ethical issues surrounding these technologies and explores their use in scholarly activities. It'll take about three hours to complete the part of the course which covers the essentials. There are also some extra activities and resources if you want to delve a bit deeper on the subject. There are no assessments and you can download a certificate to prove you've completed the course.
