Sign up now to take part in the June conference and other Debate the Future activities, running in Term 3 as part of the ExtendED Learning programme.

Whatever the start of your summer looks like - finishing your first year or your finals, or working on your Master-s dissertation - keep 9-11 June free to invest in your future self.

The Sustainability Leadership Conference , delivered by Students- Union UCL and Sustainable UCL, will bring together those with a serious interest in finding solutions to climate change, the biggest issue facing the world today.

We invite all students with a passion for climate discussion and debate to join us at Marshgate, UCL-s most environmentally friendly building at UCL East. You will meet like-minded students - future collaborators, friends and climate colleagues - and hear from experts and practitioners in sustainability.

This free, practical conference goes beyond the academic. Prepare to hear and be inspired by the stories of those before you, who have built a sustainability career.

From a packed and varied programme, you-ll be able to build your own conference experience, including:
  • Panel discussions on key sustainability topics, including insights from the fields of climate, biodiversity, water and energy.

  • Interactive workshops to develop skills such as leadership, climate communication, entrepreneurship, educating and journalism.

  • Big Help Out activities, for the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with local conservation and sustainability non-profits.

  • Wellbeing and break sessions including Climate Café, stand-up comedy, nature walks and much more!

  • A suite of pre-conference activities that focus on developing empathy, real life problem-solving and communication skills so you get the most out of the conference.

Here-s what another student had to say

Shashwat was a Master-s student in Clinical Neuroscience at last year-s conference, where they were inspired not only about career possibilities but also the small-but-connected individual acts which could make a difference:

-Anyone can get into sustainability work, whether you have a degree in it or not. Everyone can help promote sustainability in their lives, homes and jobs, but it does need all sections of our communities to be invited and involved in the conversations. I will be making some small changes in my life that hopefully will have a lasting effect, such as being more mindful of the transportation I use and eating less meat.-

How to sign up

Please use this page to tell us you would like to join the conference, as we have limited space. We-ll get in touch with the finalised programme and ask you to confirm your spot.
