Congratulations to this year’s winners of the BEAMS Professional Services Awards

Staff from across UCL came together to celebrate the outstanding contributions of Professional Services colleagues at this year’s BEAMS Professional Services Awards, recognising excellence, dedication, and impact across a wide range of categories.

Colleagues from the Faculty of Engineering Sciences, the Faculty of Mathematical & Physical Sciences and The Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment came together to recognise and celebrate those who were nominated for this year’s BEAMS Professional Services Awards. These awards were set up to recognise the exceptional commitment and performance of BEAMS Professional Services colleagues over the past year and celebrate their contribution to the UCL Strategic Plan and 2034 Enablers. Staff went to great efforts to gather high quality information to support their nominations and overall, we received 155 nominations, which clearly shows how much talent there is across the three faculties, and perhaps more importantly an appreciation of our colleagues and the work they do.

The annual event is hosted by the three BEAMS Directors of Operations. Professor Jacqui Glass (Dean of the Bartlett, Faculty of the Built Environment) welcomed everyone and gave an introduction. Beth Beasant (Executive Director, Faculty Operations and Chair of this year’s judging panel) delivered a short talk on the importance of Professional Services throughout the changes. Sourabh Khedkar (Lead Faculty Student Representative, The Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment) expressed his appreciation of PS staff support on behalf of the students. The winners were then announced by Sara Collins (Director of Operations, Faculty of Engineering) with Alison Saunders (Director of Business Partnering) presenting them with their certificates and prizes. Helen Crane (Deputy Director of Operations for The Bartlett, Faculty of the Built Environment) brought the event to a close, and a drinks reception followed afterwards.

The judging process was rigorous, with numerous exceptional nominations making it a challenging task for our panel. In addition to the winners and runners-up, the judges wanted to recognise the remarkable efforts of several nominees whose contributions were outstanding and deserving of a special mention.

And so, it is with great pleasure we share the names of the winners and runners-up with the rest of the UCL community.
