UCL has closed and evacuated a number of buildings due to a gas leak.
Cadent, the gas distribution network, has closed Gower Place to identify the source of the leak. On their advice, we have closed and evacuated a number of UCL buildings as a safety precaution including: the Kathleen Lonsdale Building, the Physics Building, the Slade, 25 Gordon Street, the Lewis Building, 3 Gower Place and the Pearson Building.
The disruption is expected to continue over the weekend, and potentially into next week, until the source of the leak is located and repairs are carried out.
Staff and students will not be able to use their ID cards to access these areas and security will be on site to ensure buildings are safe.
