Bartlett-based practice to build tower in China
Chair of the Bartlett Professor Christine Hawley and alumni Andrew Porter, Abigail Ashton and Moyang Yang are part of London-based architectural practice Metamode. The practice, which recently won the Hakka Museum and Culture Park competition in Heyuan City, China, has beaten six Chinese competitors to win the right to design a 52,000 square metre office in the Shenzhen High Tech Business Park for A8.com, a digital music company. A8.com sells music content through mobile handsets and PCs to the Chinese market and Metamode's proposal for the tower incorporates a responsive façade that changes according to remote data from the A8.com website.
