Appointment of new Pro Vice-Provost (Equity and Inclusion)

Professor Sasha Roseneil, Dean of Social and Historical Sciences, has been appointed as UCL's first Pro Vice-Provost (Equity and Inclusion). The new role provides senior academic leadership on all aspects of UCL's equity and inclusion goals, including collaborating with senior leaders across the institution to help facilitate cultural change. The new Pro Vice-Provost will engage with students and staff and help ensure that equity and inclusion are core elements across all of UCL's strategies. Professor Roseneil says: 'It's a great honour to be appointed as UCL's first Pro Vice-Provost (Equity and Inclusion). I want to see UCL continuing to make ever bolder and more impactful interventions to create a radically more equitable, inclusive and diverse university community. In this I believe we should be guided both by robust data and evidence, and by our institution's founding values of equality and openness. This work must also foreground the voices and experiences of those who have been historically marginalised within, and excluded from, UCL.
