How does the Student Journalist Scheme work?

This scheme is for you if you’re looking to upskill in writing and people management as well as be paid to write high profile articles, work with a range of UCL teams and collaborate with social media content creators.
We are recruiting five Student Journalists who will be responsible for:

You will have the option to write articles on a range of topics throughout the year, to upskill in copy writing and build your writing portfolio. You will be a member of the pool until September 2024.

There is no minimum time requirement and members are able to write to suit your own schedule and interests.

How does the Content Writers Pool work?

Each of the Student Journalists will manage five content writers and will both brief you on content they need as well as support you in writing for other teams. You will be added to a Microsoft Teams Channel where the Journalists and UCL staff will put a call out for content.

If you are available to write the content - you simply reply to the message and the Student Journalist or UCL staff member will get in touch with you with more information about what they need. You will write content that is suitable for a student audience and will be posted on the appropriate channel/ website.
