UCL is now inviting applications for the Spärck AI Scholarship - a UK Government-funded award offering full tuition and a £22,780 stipend to support the next generation of AI leaders.
UCL is pleased to announce that applications are open for the Spärck AI Scholarship , a national initiative designed to accelerate the development of talented leaders in AI and its application across diverse disciplines. The scholarship offers full tuition fees plus a £22,780 stipend for one year of full-time Master’s study.
The scheme is open to both UK and international students and spans a broad selection of eligible Master’s programmes, including fields such as data science, digital innovation, healthcare technologies, neuroscience, architectural computation, energy systems and more - reflecting the wide interdisciplinary reach of AI at UCL.
Beyond financial support, scholars will join a dynamic national cohort and gain structured opportunities for industry exposure, networking and professional development, preparing them to shape responsible, high-impact AI across research, government and industry.
"The Spärck AI scholarship programme adds real force to the UK’s AI ambitions. It opens advanced study to talented people from the UK and globally who might otherwise be missed. At UCL, we want to help them realise their potential and build the talent and ideas that will shape a more innovative and inclusive future for our country."
Professor Geraint Rees (UCL Vice Provost Research, Innovation and Global Engagement)
The award is part of a wider UK Government investment of £17.2 million across nine leading universities to strengthen the UK’s AI talent pipeline and cement its global leadership in the field.
