Sussex composer’s new CD
Sussex composer's new CD A double CD of musical works by a University of Sussex composer is being released this month. The two CDs feature first recordings of many of the most prominent choral, instrumental and piano works by Ed Hughes, Senior Lecturer in Music at Sussex. They are performed by the New Music Players and New Music Vocal Ensemble - groups founded by the composer. The vocal ensemble present A Buried Flame , a choral work of 25 minutes' duration. The new release also features pianist Richard Casey (who has performed at Sussex) in the 38-minute piano cycle Orchids . Although the official release date is 25 June, CDs are already available online.
