Prof Miles Padgett appointed as Interim Executive Chair of EPSRC

The University of Glasgow's Professor Miles Padgett has been appointed as Interim Executive Chair of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). The University of Glasgow's Professor Miles Padgett has been appointed as Interim Executive Chair of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). Professor Padgett is Royal Society Research Professor and holds the Kelvin Chair of Natural Philosophy at the University of Glasgow's School of Physics & Astronomy. His research interests span optics and quantum enhanced imaging and sensing. He is also Principal Investigator of QuantIC, the UK quantum technology hub in quantum enhanced imaging, which is based at the University of Glasgow. Professor Padgett said: "I am delighted to be joining the wonderful team at EPSRC and UKRI. Together, we'll develop the kind of research environment in which we all want to work, and which delivers the economic and social benefits that the engineering and physical sciences can create.
