New College Organist and Director of the Chapel Choir
Performer and music scholar, Joseph Fort , has now joined King's College London as the new College Organist & Director of the Chapel Choir and Lecturer in Music. The College Organist is responsible for all the music in the Chapel at the Strand, from playing at the daily services of Morning Prayer, directing the Choir at the weekly choral services of Evensong and College Eucharist to the large annual events. The Choir of King's College London is one of the leading university choirs in England, consisting of up to thirty choral scholars and two organ scholars. This appointment follows the sudden death of David Trendell last year after 22 years in the post. Joe Fort studied music at Harvard University (PhD: expected November 2015), the University of Cambridge (BA, MusB), and the Royal Academy of Music. At Cambridge he was Organ Scholar of Emmanuel College, and prior to that was Organ Scholar of All Saints' Margaret Street. He has also broadcast on UK and US radio.
