Mitsuko Uchida to play concert at restored Sheldonian

Arts 07 Jan 11 World-renowned pianist Dame Mitsuko Uchida will give one of the first concerts at Oxford University's Sheldonian Theatre since its restoration to the original colour scheme designed by Sir Christopher Wren. The concert will be held at 7pm on Tuesday 11 January 2011 and Dame Mitsuko will use the proceeds to support the work of Oxford University's Faculty of Music, as part of the Oxford Thinking Campaign. The Faculty plan to purchase new practice pianos to be used by music students. The programme will comprise Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 27 in E minor, Op. Schumann's Davidsbündlertänze Op. Chopin's Prelude in C sharp minor, Op.
