International concert pianist to perform at university

Acclaimed concert pianist Benjamin Frith will perform with the Ten Tors Orchestra at the University of Plymouth's Roland Levinsky Building on Saturday 20 June at 7.30pm. Described as one of the greatest concert pianists in the world, Benjamin will perform alongside conductor Simon Ible, on the University's new grand piano. The audience will enjoy one of the very best of Mozart's solo concertos, the D minor; Holst's St Paul's Suite; Haydn's Symphony No. 88, and the magical work Little Waves of the Harbour by the University music department's Lona Kozik. This six minute piece was premiered as part of the Music to Watch Fish By concert at the National Marine Aquarium in November 2008. Simon Ible said: "Benjamin Frith is one the UK's most highly-acclaimed performers. Back in the 1980s, we collaborated in concerts in Bath's Pump Rooms and Guildhall so I am particularly looking forward to his playing my favourite Mozart piano concerto with the Ten Tors Orchestra." Admission is by ticket only.
