Audiences grow for free organ concerts in Meeting House

Audiences grow for free organ concerts in Meeting House. Audiences have been growing for the increasingly successful series of organ concerts in the Meeting House on the University of Sussex campus. University organist D'Arcy Trinkwon, who is also organist of Worth Abbey, introduces each piece of music, making it accessible to even those who are new to organ music. D'Arcy says: "The concerts are aimed to be interesting to everyone - and the audiences continue to grow, showing that they are! "At the Meeting House the organist is in central view of the audience; this allows everyone to watch the performance right in front of them, providing the perfect place for people to see exactly what feet can do. "The autumn 2017 series is called Pedal Power # Dancing Feet. The virtuoso organist's feet must be as agile and musical as any hands." Concerts take place in the chapel upstairs on the last Wednesday of each month during term time. Admission is free to the relaxed and informal 45-minute concerts, which start at 12noon, and all are welcome.
