Full Time, Permanent Applications are invited for the post of Deputy Director (Library) in the Library, Learning Support and Cultural Services directorate (LLSC). This is an exciting and essential senior role within the directorate. You will join Royal Holloway at an important time as the University delivers its RH2030s strategy and an associated programme of transformational change across both academic units and professional services. In this context, you will have a strong vision of how Library Services can contribute to our institutional mission. In addition to responsibility for the effective and efficient operational delivery of both digital and campus-based library services, you will be able to identify, plan and deliver cross-functional change programmes. You will be an experienced, empathetic and self-motivated manager with a strong strategic understanding of the changing higher education landscape and the contribution libraries can make to both research and education, including through the application of technology and open scholarship. You will have a collaborative, user-focussed approach and be able to communicate and influence effectively at all levels within the University. Reporting directly to the Director of Library, Learning Support and Cultural Services, you will provide leadership to the library-focussed teams within the directorate, comprising ca 29 FTE colleagues, and directly line-manage 5 functional service Heads - Acquisitions and Content Delivery, Customer Services, Research Support, Teaching & Engagement, and the Library Systems Manager.
