Job detailsJob detailsJob reference 26/113182 Date posted 02/03/2026 Application closing date 16/03/2026 Salary £41,519 to £49,536 per annum Job category/type Research Attachments BlankJob description In collaboration with Rolls-Royce, The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Research Fellow to be a highly productive and ambitious member of the QUB and Rolls-Royce collaborative research team, investigating and using computational simulation methods to support structural design of next generation engine and aircraft concepts. Successful applicants will have responsibilities in independent research, collaborating with the QUB team, focusing on the finite element modelling of the engine and nacelle sub-assembly, exploring novel design configurations to improve the structural response of the powerplant. Direct collaboration with Rolls-Royce will be a key aspect of the role, including regular visits to the company’s state of the art facilities in the UK. You will have extensive opportunity to show case your work to project partners at regular technical meetings and workshops. You will become a key member of an interdisciplinary team of experts from Queen’s University Belfast and Rolls-Royce working on this exciting initiative.
