Role Description

Department

This is a very exciting time to join professional development at the University of York. Backed by significant strategic investment, we are embarking on an ambitious growth strategy to substantially scale our commercial training revenue and market influence. Your core mission will be to define, build, and amplify the brand and profile of our professional training portfolio. You will use your strong marketing and branding skills to power engagement with our training offer, ultimately leading to more contracts.

Role

Your role will be to work across our entire training offer, articulating our offer clearly, professionally and effectively via all relevant channels to our target markets. You will market both our offer as a whole and individual courses. This will require you to analyse different markets and identify the best ways to reach these markets. One of our routes to engagement will be via events and networks - you will take charge of designing and implementing a series of University of York events, ensuring participation from a range of UK medium-large businesses. The ideal candidate will possess a track record of leading B2B marketing and the ability to articulate the value of university-level executive education.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

  • Strong communications skills - ability to write compelling content and build relationships with potential customers.
  • Significant experience of digital marketing across all channels, including social media platforms, SEO, email marketing, and online advertising platforms.
  • Proven experience in brand development, with an organisational brand, and developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
  • Strategic and analytical skills: ability to interpret data, develop and implement marketing strategies, and align plans with business objectives.
