Student ambassadors at the Universities of Amsterdam and Birmingham have teamed up to create an online festival to bring people closer together and celebrate diversity.
The month-long festival launches on Wednesday 3 February and events include webinars on the themes of inclusive cities, as well as a virtual interactive tour through Amsterdam - taking in the sights of a city filled with influences from different cultures.
With a full programme lined up, tickets and further information are now available.
Working as part of the strategic partnership between the two Universities, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Student Ambassadors at Birmingham have worked with Exchange Ambassadors at Amsterdam to organise the festival, which underlines the value of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
Dr Sammy Li, Adviser on Student Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion at the University of Birmingham commented: “The EDI Festival is a celebration bringing students and staff together to embrace the diversity of our community and ignite broader conversations about how we can foster a more inclusive student community.’
In July 2019 the Universities of Amsterdam and Birmingham launched a strategic partnership , building on our long-term collaborations and successful track-record of staff and student exchange.
Since this time, a network of academic and professional services colleagues have been working collaboratively to share research and best practice to embed EDI across institutional policy and governance, research, and education.
