UCL Graduations 2026: Platform Party registration is now open!

We are excited to share our confirmed dates for UCL’s 2026 Graduation Ceremonies and officially announce our Platform Party registration open.

Please save the dates and sign up on the Portal to join the celebrations!

There will be three sets of Graduation Ceremonies in 2026:

  • 18-22 May - predominantly postgraduate students
  • 6 July - predominantly postgraduate students
  • 7-11 September - predominantly undergraduate students

Confirmed faculty dates are available in the  2026 Graduation Schedule.

Graduation ceremonies are a hugely meaningful moment for our students, made even more special by the presence of academic and professional services staff. If you haven’t attended before, they are a wonderful occasion to be part of.

Platform Party - registration now open

Joining the Platform Party means sitting on stage in academic dress, offering visible support and congratulations as students cross the stage. Platform Party members also have access to a dedicated pre-ceremony space with catering and refreshments, and can join the receptions afterwards to interact and celebrate with their graduates.

All 2026 ceremonies will take place at the  Royal Festival Hall , and we’re delighted to be returning to this iconic venue for the foreseeable future.

To take part, simply register via the Portal. It’s quick and easy, lets you choose which ceremonies to attend, and allows you to request academic dress if needed (provided free of charge). You can amend your details at any time before the portal closes and will receive a confirmation email once registered.

What happens next?

By 23 February, eligible students will be invited to finalise their registration. Faculty comms teams will share attendee lists so you can see which of your students are graduating. Closer to the time, you’ll receive detailed joining instructions.

Registration deadlines:

  • May ceremonies - 27 April
  • July ceremonies - 15 June
  • September ceremonies - 10 August

Gowns and eligibility

Owning a gown isn’t required - appropriate academic dress can be ordered for free. Professional services staff are very welcome on the Platform Party, whether or not they hold a degree, and will be provided with appropriate academic dress.

Volunteering at Graduations

Volunteering at Graduations is a rewarding and unforgettable experience, and staff are a vital part of our brilliant team of Graduation ceremony volunteers. As a member of staff - whether academic or professional services - you can make a huge difference to Graduations by  signing up via this form  for volunteering shifts. You’re welcome to be both a Platform Party member and a volunteer.

Graduations are a chance to celebrate our students’ achievements as they look back on their time at UCL and step into our global alumni community. We’d love to see you there.

For questions, please check the  Staff FAQs  or email  ceremonies@ucl.ac.uk.

Best wishes,
UCL Graduations Team
