What is your role and what does it involve?
I’m the Director of the MBA Health at UCL Global Business School for Health, the Academic Lead for Accreditations, and an expert in Strategy. I lead our flagship MBA Health programme, designed specifically for ambitious healthcare professionals looking to drive transformation in their sector. My role spans programme design and strategy, student experience, teaching excellence, and external partnerships. How long have you been at UCL and what was your previous role?
I joined UCL in October 2024. Prior to that, I was Associate Head at Brunel Business School, Brunel University London, where I led on student experience, strategic transformation, accreditations, and curriculum innovation. What working achievement or initiative are you most proud of?
I’m proud of building programmes that truly empower professionals to become leaders of change - especially in the healthcare sector, where the need for strategic thinking and effective leadership is more urgent than ever. Seeing our students graduate with confidence and step into senior roles is incredibly rewarding.Tell us about a project you are working on now which is top of your to-do list
We’re currently preparing for dual accreditation submissions - AMBA and CAHME - for our MBA and EMBA Health programmes. It’s an exciting milestone as we continue to solidify GBSH’s position as the global benchmark in business education for health leaders. What is your favourite album, film and novel?
Album: A Head Full of Dreams by Coldplay - joyful, vibrant, and full of optimism. It’s an album about dreaming big and moving forward, which resonates deeply with me.Film: Life is Beautiful - a moving story about perspective, resilience, and our ability to shape the lives of others.
Novel: The Master and Margarita by Bulgakov - surreal, philosophical, and unforgettable.
What is your favourite joke (pre-watershed)?
Why don’t skeletons fight each other? They don’t have the guts.
Who would be your dream dinner guests?
Steve Jobs - for his visionary thinking; Frida Kahlo - for her boldness and artistic fire; and Zaha Hadid - for redefining what’s possible in architecture. I love looking at the Aquatics Centre she designed on my way to UCL East campus.I deeply admire people in business, art, and design who are unafraid to create something truly unique and who relentlessly pursue their vision. Jobs, Kahlo, and Hadid were all creators in the truest sense.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t wait for perfect conditions - just start. Be brave, ask bold questions, and trust your instincts. The path doesn’t have to be linear to be right. What would it surprise people to know about you?
As a firm believer in the power of business school education as a lever for career and life success, I recently launched an Instagram channel to talk openly about business schools, MBAs, and how to make the most of the experience. It’s my way of reaching a broader audience and helping others navigate big decisions with clarity and confidence. What is your favourite place?
On a sailboat - whether racing or cruising. I’m a passionate sailor, and I try to spend as much time on the water as I can. Sometimes it’s leisurely weekends exploring the coast, other times it’s competitive racing where every move counts. My favourite moment is just before a race begins: standing on deck, facing the wind, with the crew in sync and the sails ready to catch. It’s a moment of intense focus before the action - a blend of strategy, teamwork, and calm anticipation. For me, sailing is the perfect combination of challenge, clarity, and beauty. The MBA Health Open Evening will be held at the UCL East campus on 28 May 2025.
