Alexandru Cernat appointed chair of the Social Statistics Section of the Royal Statistical Society

Dr. Alex andru Cernat, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Statistics has been named chair of the Social Statistics Section of the Royal Statistical Society.

Founded in 1834, the Royal Statistical Society is one of the world’s leading organisations advocating for the importance of statistics and data. The RSS Social Statistics Section arranges an annual programme of meetings including sessions at the annual RSS conference and the Cathie Marsh lecture.

The remit and activities of the Section are likely to be of interest to a wide range of audiences, including many people who would not consider themselves ’statisticians’ and are not members of the Section.
