Job description

The Centre for Secure Technologies in the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EEECS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow to be part of the multidisciplinary research team working on the technology horizon scanning ’Shaping the Metaverse’ project.

This project is a collaboration between CSIT and Medialab and is funded by the UK Government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. The project supports HMG policy development by gathering evidence and providing analysis for various DSIT and DCMS analysis teams and stakeholders.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:

  • A degree or equivalent in the humanities & social sciences or similar area
  • Or be about to obtain a postgraduate qualification involving a significant element of humanities & social science research training
  • Recent relevant research experience including work in a multidisciplinary environment and delivery of collaborative research projects
  • Experience in conducting literature reviews, quantitative and qualitative data collection and demonstrate high levels of analytical capability
  • A track record of delivering high-quality policy reports.

This post is fixed term for 12 months. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
