Research Associate (Part Time, Fixed Term)The Micro-Physiology of Marine Organisms We are seeking a part-time Post Doctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to make, calibrate and use micro-electrode sensors for measuring the fine-scale physiology of marine organisms. The successful applicant will work with researchers in both the Department of Earth Sciences and the Department of Chemistry on a variety of projects to study the micro-physiology of marine calcifying organisms and algae. The successful candidate must have a PhD in physiology or a related field. Experience in constructing, calibrating and using micro-electrode sensors is essential, alongside a strong background in using micro-electrode sensors to measure the fine scale physiology of marine organisms. The successful candidate will have a strong publication record, commensurate with their career stage, good communication skills and be able to take up the appointment from early October 2023. Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance. The FTE for this position will be agreed on appointment. The closing date for applications is 28 September 2023.
