Job Vacancies View All Vacancies Chemistry Salary: £31,396 to £36,024 Closing Date: Sunday 01 October 2023 Interview Date: Tuesday 10 October 2023 Reference: 0985-23 Project Description This post is part of a project funded by Lancaster University’s EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA). The project will be focussed on the improvement of properties of biodegradable plastics and development of methods for their chemical recycling. We will investigate the feasibility of the process, the products that are obtained, and their re-polymerization to polymers. The properties of the chemically recycled polymers will be investigated. You should have a PhD in polymer synthesis, catalysis, or a closely related area, coupled with experience in the synthesis, handling and characterisation of polymers and air- and moisture sensitive reagents. The role will include the supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, the preparation of grant proposals and publications, and other laboratory related administrative roles to support the PI and her group. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our industrial partner, particularly with respect to polymer characterisation.
