UK date and time: 25-January-2023 21:48   Applicant Options New Search Login Job Details Help Terms of Use & Privacy Policy   Job Details Senior Clinical Research Fellow in Organ Retrieval and Vascular Access Surgery Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, Churchill Hospital and John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford Contract type: Fixed term for 36 months Hours: Full-time About the role We are looking for an Academic Surgeon to work in our Transplant team based at the Churchill and the John Radcliffe Hospitals in Headington, Oxford. The department has a strong track record in transplant immunology with an emerging programme in cell therapy. The successful candidate will be expected to run an active laboratory programme and to play a leading role in the translation of novel cell-based therapies into clinical practice. The post-holder will be required to participate in programmes for teaching clinical students, training junior doctors and in clinical examinations. They will also participate in clinical governance activities, including clinical audit, clinical effectiveness, risk management and quality improvement activates as required by the Trust and external accrediting bodies. The post-holder also will be required to keep himself/herself fully up-to-date with their relevant area of practice and to be able to demonstrate this to the satisfaction of the Trust. About you You will be qualified to FRCS or equivalent with CCT in General/Transplant Surgery. You will also hold a GMC registration with a licence to practice. A Higher Medical Degree (MD/PhD) or equivalent is essential. You will have completed training in abdominal transplant, vascular access and organ retrieval surgery and will have experience in the delivery of abdominal organ transplantation and vascular access. Additionally you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as administrative and time management skills, with a good track record in internationally leading research in transplantation with peer reviewed publications. This full-time post is available immediately and is fixed term for 36 months.
