Description

Grade: B1 (A2 following signature of the qualification agreement)
Level of employment: 40 hours
Length of employment: limited to 6 years (with possibility of a permanent contract on satisfactory performance)

Responsibilities
* performance of independent research projects
* acquisition of third-party funding
* participation in research, teaching and administration
* mentoring of PhD students working on comparative onco-pharmacology

Requirements

Required knowledge and qualifications
* PhD in veterinary medicine, biology, molecular biology or related field
* Profound knowledge and technical skills (evident by publication record) in signalling pathways in haematology
* Profound technical and theoretical expertise in stem cell biology
* Extensive experience with biomodels, including genetically engineered mice
* Experience in the acquisition of third-party funding
* Experience in teaching
* German level B2
* English level C1

Desirable qualifications:
* Experience in an international team, preferably connected to JAK/STAT signalling and/or haematopoietic tumour models
* Experience in translational medicine

We offer

The tenure-track position includes the option of negotiating a qualification agreement (= QV in accordance with Section 27 of the collective agreement for university staff). The initial contract will be as a postdoctoral assistant with QV option. When the QV is signed, the position will be reclassified as an assistant professorship. When the provisions of the qualification agreement are met, the incumbent will be promoted to tenured associate professor.
