Description

Your tasks In order to expand our R&D and teaching activities in Data Science in Applied Life Sciences, the Institute of Chemistry and Bioanalytics invites applications for a permanent professor position. Your tasks include:
  • setting up and leading an independent research group
  • designing and applying innovative data-based approaches to a broad spectrum of practical problems in the field of life sciences (e.g. chemistry and biology, analytics, process and pharmaceutical technologies and environmental sciences)
  • promoting collaboration within the university as well as joint research with regional, national and international industrial and academic partners
  • publishing scientific articles and actively participating in professional networks and conferences to increase the visibility of the university in the scientific and industrial community
  • committed contributions to teaching in the university with a clear link to your research activities as well as to the goals of the university

Requirements

Your profile You share our enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring students as well as for collaborating in applied R&D with colleagues, university staff and project partners. You have wide-ranging and in-depth expertise that you use constructively and are constantly expanding. In addition, we expect:
  • doctorate in the mathematical or science field
  • excellent knowledge in computer or data science, digitization, automation or applied mathematics, as well as a strong interest in life science issues
  • outstanding track record in applied research, ideally with at least five years of industrial experience in staff and project management
  • strong command of written and spoken English and German
  • university teaching qualification or the willingness to acquire this during the first years of employment
