EPSRC FIBE2 CDT MRes + PhD candidateships in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment ¿ Resilience in a Changing World

Our vision is to lead the transformation in the resilience of our infrastructure by conducting world-class, cutting-edge industry-relevant research and you can be part of this. We offer an inspirational doctoral training programme focused on cohort-based training for talented students from diverse academic and social backgrounds.

We are currently looking to recruit 12 students to start in October 2020 on our four-year cohort-based MRes + PhD programme. In the first year, you’ll undertake training in broad infrastructure engineering topics as well as specialist modules to help develop your research skills and prepare you for your PhD studies in years 2-4.

The CDT’s research and training activities capitalise on Cambridge’s internationally recognised strengths across the engineering and sciences disciplines as well as wider university collaborations for underpinning theoretical and experimental knowledge for infrastructure research.

We offer fully funded EPSRC studentships (fees of £8589 and a tax-free stipend of £15,285) for UK students or provide fees only for EU students living outside the UK. Further details about eligibility can be found at: https://epsrc.ukri.org/skills/students/help/eligibility/ . Oversea students are welcome to apply but will need to sources their own funding.

Applicants should select PhD themes from https://www.fibe-cdt.eng.cam.ac.uk/ResearchThemesNProjects . Then apply online at https://www.graduate.study.cam.ac.uk/courses/directory/egegpdfib . The final round of admissions closes on 30th June 2020.

Students are expected to have a 2.1 or 1st class honours degree or an equivalent standard/experience. We welcome candidates from any engineering background including bio/chemical, computer science, mathematics, project management or similar disciplines.
