An opening for a part-time (0.75 FTE/28.13 hours over 5 days a week) Project Officer and PA has arisen to provide high-quality support to Professor Marta Kwiatkowska in The Department of Computer Science. This is a fixed-term position for 5 years in the first instance.

The duties involved in the role are varied, and include providing professional administrative support services to Professor Kwiatkowska, acting as the main point of contact for the PI (scheduling meetings, organising itineraries and managing local projects), oversight of the research projects budgets, providing assistance to the PI with project tracking and reporting, facilitating actions and interactions among senior members of staff, ensuring urgent or high priority issues are quickly communicated and fast-tracked between all parties, and supporting the work of the group as required.

The ideal candidate will have education to a level that ensures excellent written and oral communication skills, proven PA experience in a similar environment with the demonstrated ability to effectively manage a portfolio of important activities/events, a track record of managing projects successfully and delivering them on time and to budget, and excellent skills in office IT systems, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and use of the internet for searches. Experience of working in an academic environment and of organising academic conferences is highly desirable.
